Novels

'...my eyes cast over to that women beside me on my left, and I laughed a little louder, clearing my throat as I said, ‘Looks like you also have no umbrella?’ There was a pause, which felt long somehow, as she flinched a little, before she glanced up at me.'

“Whenever It Rains is a contemporary literary Romance novel, depicting the uncertain forecasts of life that rain down onto Aresha and Si-Woo, early 30s adults navigating their careers, and their longstanding seven plus years of marriage. Told from the perspective of Aresha, a 31 year old literary agent, this semantic debut novel addresses the difficulties of daily struggles and frustrations between loving families, not solely couples per se, posing the question to readers of what forecasts leave noticeable droplets of emerging puddles in their lives, how, and why, the same deliberations Aresha and her husband find themselves trying to navigate an answer for, as their surging puddles surface into their relationship.”

The Grave

Won't you, dear friend, throw flowers at the screen?
Won't you cover its cubed shape
with a soft long piece of drape?
Lace it over with black crepe?

Conceal the ancient motion-pictured scenes,
flickering moments from yesteryears,
warm sentiments of memories shared.
From a budding child. A stubborn teen.
A maturing adult, with realised dreams.

Setting the funeral, not as it may seem.
Hands are rewinding the tape,
sent away to a soundscape.
Play an old videotape.

“21/33 Infinity is a compilation of poems, with an abundant exploration of poetic rhythms, and forms, such as renditions of Arabic poetry, including other traditional forms such as the Pastoral, Ode and Narrative, amongst many others. Whilst themes in this series may range significantly from loss, change and life, nevertheless, the series contains supplementary complex and detailed analogues, nuanced with overlapping elements that have been left for the reader to ascertain, and to which most readers will find enjoyably abstruse. The series pays focus to the human condition and therefore, the poetry compiled are an extended commentary on this topic.”
